In the spirit of community building, Darul Qasim @Raleigh is excited to offer a community Tafsir discussion. Attendees will gather onsite to watch the livestream of Shaykh Amin Kholowadia’s, the president and founder of Darul Qasim, tafsir. Following the tafsir, will be a guided group discussion about the tafsir led by Mawlana Atiq Taiyab. This is open to the community, no registration required.

NEW COURSE OFFERINGS

LL-ARAB001: Arabic I Saturdays, 12pm to 1:30pm

Students will learn the four primary characteristics of a noun and how to conjugate them in the nominative, accusative, and genitive cases. Students will then progress to combining nouns to form various forms of nominal sentences. Nearing the end of the semester, students will begin conjugating past tense verbs.

B-PCS022: Intro to Hadith & Development of Islamic LawSaturdays, 1:30pm to 3pm

Waḥi (revelation) is divided into two categories: one that is recited (i.e. the Qur’ān) and one that is not recited (i.e. Hadith).

The Hadith section of this course will focus on introducing students to understanding the history, development and methodology scholars of hadith utilized to document, categorize, organize and arrange the statements of the Prophet .  

The Islamic Law section of this course will map the historical development of Islamic Law from the prophetic era to the development of the four schools of Fiqh. Key areas of focus will be differences in Fiqh during the era of the companions, how those differences formalized into methodologies, the intersection between Hadith and Fiqh, and the legal status of following a madhhab.

PCI102: Knowing Our Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلمSaturdays, 11am to 12pm

Using the illustrious al’Shifā, students will develop the required esteem and love of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.  This is not inherent, but must be cultivated through knowing and understanding the unparalleled beauty of the Prophet and his rank among all creation صلى الله عليه وسلم.

In this second part of the series, students will learn the rights which are owed to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.  Students will learn the details about the obligation to believe in him, and the necessity of love, respect and honor for him.  

In this third part of the series, students will learn what every Muslim must believe regarding the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and will also receive an overview of what is entailed by the Sunni belief regarding the infallibility of prophets. 

B-PCS024: Fiqh of WorshipMondays, 7:30pm to 9pm

Through the popular Ḥanafī primer, Marāqī al-Saʿādāt by Abū ‘l-Ikhlāṣ Ḥasan al-Shurunbulālī as the reference, students will study 4 out of the 5 pillars of Islam, namely Ṣalāt (ritual prayers), Zakāt (charity), Ṣawm (fasting), and Ḥajj (pilgrimage). Each section will concentrate on understanding the fundamentals and applying the knowledge to various contemporary situations.

PCI101: Wisdoms in the Creations of AllahWednesdays, 7pm to 8:30pm

Allah the Exalted states in the Quran, “Do they not look towards the camel; how it was created.” (Surah Ghashiyah, 88:17)
To reflect over Allah’s creation is a Quranic imperative. This course will offer a window into Allah’s power, creativity, and wisdom manifest in His creation. Allah willing, students will strengthen their connection to their Creator by cultivating a deeper appreciation of the details of His creation.

B-PCS021: Intro to Sciences of the QurʾānThursdays, 7:30pm - 9pm

This course is an introduction to the Qurʾān and will cover Qurʾān as a form of revelation (waḥy), the manner it was revealed, the occasions of revelation, the concept of abrogation, and common themes found in the Qurʾān.
