Dr. Choukri Heddouchi received his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees from the University of Chicago, Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Before that, he received a Master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University, Department of History, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Moroccan National Institute of Archaeology. Dr. Heddouchi was a lecturer of Arabic at University of Chicago between 2001 and 2012. He has researched and published in the field of Islamic Archaeology, particularly in Egypt and West Africa, as well as medieval coinage in Sijilmasa, Morocco.
