Introduction to Anthroplogy
This presentation with Dr. Choukri will explore the field of Islamic archaeology as an academic discipline, in its own right, surveying its history and methodology, and as an intersection of Islamic history, archaeology and wider anthropology.

The workshop will conclude with an extensive Q&A session, insha Allah.

About Dr. Choukri Heddouchi, PhD | Chair, Department of Arabic

Dr. Heddouchi received his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees from the University of Chicago, Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Before that, he received a Master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University, Department of History, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Moroccan National Institute of Archaeology. Dr. Heddouchi was a lecturer of Arabic at University of Chicago between 2001 and 2012.

Currently, Dr. Choukri is the Chair, department of Arabic at Darul Qasim and is teaching and researching at Darul Qasim.
