On the afternoon of November 2nd, Darul Qasim had the pleasure of hosting a group of 9th and 10th grade students visiting from Al-Amal School in Fridley, MN. The group of 36 students and some parents were given a tour of our new campus in Hoffman Estates. Ustadh Firas Alkhateeb – lecturer in the department of humanities at Darul Qasim – addressed the students on the significance of Jerusalem in Islamic theology and history, and how our civilizational values of knowledge and worship have a direct relationship with the global Muslim condition.
Al-Amal School students were led by their teacher, Mohamed El-Tayash, who has been teaching at the school for the past 19 years. He has been visiting Darul Qasim and utilizing its online resources for the past 22 years. He expressed his gratitude and admiration of Darul Qasim. Both parents and students were amazed that such an institution was being built in our own backyard here in the United States. We at Darul Qasim were honored to host them and ask for their continued Du’as.
