Mawlana Yaqub Mikus studied the Shāfiʿī madhhab and its fiqh for more than twenty years. Mawlana Yaqub has read the elementary-level textbooks as well as advanced legal manuals, like Imām Nawawī’s Minhāj, under the tutelage of his beloved asātidhah. Alongside furūʿ, Mawlana Yaqub has studied uṣūl al-fiqh, al-qawāʿid al-fiqhīyah, and other fields related to the subject. And, along with fiqh, Mawlana Yaqub has studied the other Islamic and Arabic sciences during my dār al-ʿulūm education and travels in Africa, the Middle East, and the United States. Mawlana Yaqub is dedicated to serving Islamic law’s academic disciplines, especially as a classroom teacher.
