Mawlānā Muhammad Ismā‘īl Iqbāl is a distinguished Islamic scholar and educator with a rich and diverse background in Islamic studies and community service. Born in Colorado Springs, CO, and raised in Arlington, TX, He grew up in a culturally unique environment that deeply influenced his pursuit of Islamic knowledge. Inspired by his mother, an American-born revert to Islam, he embarked on a lifelong journey of studying and teaching the sacred sciences.
He began his formal Islamic education at Jāmi‘atul Husnain in Indianapolis, where he excelled in Arabic morphology, syntax, and literature, as well as foundational disciplines such as Tafsīr (exegesis), Hadīth (Prophetic traditions), Fiqh (jurisprudence), and ‘Aqīdah (Creed). To deepen his expertise, he traveled to Pakistan and continued at Jāmi‘atul Husnain under the tutelage of esteemed scholars, including Mawlānā Tāriq Jamīl, Mawlānā ‘Ubaydullāh, and Shaykh Ramzī al-Habīb, earning Ijāzāt (authorizations) in various Islamic sciences.
After completing his advanced studies, he began his teaching career at Jamia Falah in Centerville, OH, where he dedicated two years to nurturing students and serving the local community. Following nearly a decade of study and service abroad, he returned to his hometown of Arlington, TX, with a vision to inspire and empower his community. There, he founded Ihyā Foundation, a dynamic initiative aimed at reviving Islamic knowledge and fostering spiritual growth.
Currently, he is a member of the faculty team at Dārul Qāsim DFW, where he continues to teach and guide students in their intellectual and spiritual journeys. His dedication to education, coupled with his deep understanding of both traditional and contemporary challenges, makes him a valuable asset to the institution and the broader community.
