Sūrat al-Ḥadīd, Chapter 57 Verse(s): 6-9

‘Belief in Allah ﷻ means that you believe in His ﷻ Sovereignty..’ The Shaykh discusses the meaning of Allah’s ﷻ kindness and mercy for His ﷻ slaves. Allah’s ﷻ care and concern for mankind is manifested in His ﷻ sending the Prophet ﷺ to mankind. The alternation of night and day mimics the cycle of darkness and enlightenment that all of mankind experiences.

Sūrat al-Ḥadīd, Chapter 57 Verse(s): 26-29 presented on 3/30/08

The Shaykh concludes this Sūrah by emphasizing the role of Prophet Nūḥ (AS) in his being a ‘second Ādam’ (AS). All prophets (AS) after Nūḥ (AS) came from his progeny, and after Nūḥ (AS) , Ibrāhīm’s  (Abraham’s; AS) family was chosen. And finally the Sūrah touches upon the self-imposed monasticism of the Christians and how it led them to go astray, followed by a warning and encouragement to believe in the messenger. The Shaykh draws this fascinating parallel between the name of the Sūrah (Ḥadīd; or Iron) and the bounty of Prophethood.
