Shaykh Amin Kholwadia’s Invitation and Visit to İstanbul

This summer, Darul Qasim College founder and president, Shaykh Amin Kholwadia was invited to teach students enrolled in EDEP, Usul Academy, and Dar al Fuquha, (a project of Darul Irfan) all Islamic academic programs held in Istanbul, Turkey. Students were afforded the opportunity to learn from an ‘ālim of the highest caliber, whose expertise in the subjects of tafsir, fiqh, and hadith were interwoven with timeless gems of wisdom tailored to the global Muslim Ummah.

“If you remove the Prophet ﷺ from Islam you’ve dehumanized it. If you remove the akhirah from Islam you’ve secularized it.”

These words and many more left a resounding impact on the hearts and minds of students and a global online community tuning in from afar. It is moments like these that illustrate Shaykh Amin and Darul Qasim College’s commitment to providing accessibility to Islamic academic learning that goes beyond the walls of the college.

Alongside this commitment, Shaykh Amin’s academic research, engagement, and dialogue was on display during his visits with local Islamic scholars, ʿulamāʾ, and at various academic institutions and facilities. He met with the mufti of Istanbul (Muftulugu) and the great muhaddith Shaykh Muhammad Awwāmah. Invited by the director of the Süleymaniye Library (founded in 1557), he was shown original Islamic manuscripts housed in the facility. He also met with Dr. Murteza Bedir at the ISAM Library where they discussed the publications of Hanafi-Maturidi texts and was shown a facsimile edition of Bukhari.

We invite you to participate in a visual tour that brings to life the academic teaching, researching, and engagement of the ‘ālim par excellence of Darul Qasim College: Shaykh Amin Kholwadia.
