This course will examine the history of al-Andalus, Muslim Iberia, from the initial conquest in the 2nd/8th century to the fall of the last Muslim polity in Granada in the 9th/15th century.

He teaches courses in history, philosophy, and language at Darul Qasim College. He holds a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago, specializing in Islamic intellectual history, political theory, and Sufi philosophy. In addition to his academic training, he has studied Islamic sciences traditionally with scholars in Chicago and Istanbul. He is also the author of Lost Islamic History: Reclaiming Muslim Civilization from the Past.
